When I first moved to California from Illinois I made friends with my hairdresser.  One afternoon she invited me to go on a grunion run.  I had no idea what this meant, but being the adventurist girl that I am I agreed.  Once the sun set we headed to the beach to catch grunions…easier said than done.  I spent the next several hours chasing tiny little fish in an attempt to catch them.  The outcome…grunions won…I caught zero.
